Hey, I'm Sun or Sunny or sunlit-stone, as you like :) Currently entirely obsessed with Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen from MDZS.

My transformative works policy is as follows:

You have complete permission to translate, podfic, make fanart of or fanmixes for any of my fic, as long as you credit me. With the same proviso, you have permission to remix my fic, write fic of my fic, use ideas I came up with for my fic, etc. That said, I'd prefer it if you didn't write an outright sequel to one of my fic without checking with me first, just in case it clashes with something I have planned; likewise please check in with me before you take up a story it looks like I've abandoned. And of course, if you do any of this, although it's not necessary I'd love it if you linked me! :)

Almost all of my fic can be summed up as a variation on 'two or three people talking together.' Oh gosh, mine too! It used to bug me a lot (I'm not the best plotter), but these days I figure I might as well play to my strengths. And those types of scenes are always my favorites in books and shows, anyway.

Oh, that's super neat! And yeah, I've gone down more or less the same journey :P I mean, I can come up with big overarching plots, but actually getting through from one major point to another... *sighs* Oh well.

Hmm, it occurs to me that I don't know if those are my favourite in books and shows! For some reason I'm having trouble thinking of any; I guess I just don't have them indexed that way. (Though you could describe a fair bit of the Vorkosigan Saga this way especially if you're willing to stretch a point and allow Miles talking to himself...)

Thinking about it, I think part of it is that I think character voice is a strength of mine? But also I just really love--I'm not 100% sure how to put it--those moments of transformation you can get, from two characters bouncing off each other or interacting with each other, that you can't really get any other way...

That and the sense of connection/love/friendship/whatever that comes with the transformation--I've always found both of those things so satisfying.

I think I enjoy it even when the characters don't like each other (or don't straightforwardly like each other), tbh? But there's definitely a sense of connection, yeah.

Honestly, no pressure but if you can recommend any original stuff that has scenes like this, I'd love to hear it...

Let's see...off the top of my head, some books with stand out scenes like this (at least for me), are The Winter Prince by Elizabeth E. Wein, The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman, The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey (that one's pretty horror-focused and very gory, but if you've got a strong stomach it's also surprisingly emotional and has one of my very favorite YA platonic relationships), and Circe by Madeline Miller, which I'm actually in the middle of right now--I have some issues with certain aspects of it but there's a really excellent verbal confrontation scene between her and her sister. All of these books are pretty good with complicated, not-straightforwardly-liking-each-other dynamics, too.

I did want to say, you're definitely welcome to follow me, but I did want to warn you I kind of disagree with most of xiyao fandom about, uh, some days it feels like most things XP And I'm mostly an MDZS-only, these days, too. I'm xiyao-feels on tumblr if you want a sample, though I'm much less grumpy here than I am there, generally speaking. No hard feelings if you want to unfollow/unfriend!

I don't honestly know what xiyao fandom is saying about anything, so I don't know if I would worry about disagreeing with it, but I do know that I have no problem with people having different takes on stuff from me... Oh, but actually, though, now you mention your name, I already follow you on Tumblr and have been happily reblogging your posts for a while :) Which means that I definitely don't know what the other side of the argument even is. I clearly haven't found that part of the fandom yet!
